After an extensive and comprehensive art education in the North of England where she gained a BA Hons and MA in Fine Art, Sarah joined the Art Angel studio collective in Islington and worked and exhibited in London.
She now lives in the Charente, painting, printmaking and sculpting. She specialises in watercolours, acrylics, all types of printmaking techniques and large scale frescos using egg tempera.
For the past three years she has been passing on her knowledge teaching adults and children in workshops all over Nouvelle Aquitaine.
She like to encourage and support her students, beginners or more experienced, in learning new techniques and finding their creativity in a relaxed and fun atmosphere, either in the studio or in the beautiful countryside of the Charente working en plein air.
Michael was apprenticed to a commercial artist at the age of sixteen and continued in the commercial artwork world working for various companies until 1982 when he set up his own company making point of sale materials, signs and displays.
With the onset of computerisation the skills of the traditional artist were superseded and graphic art via the computer took over. This was what he undertook for most of his business live until a chance meeting in 2008 with the then curator of modern art for Bruges in Belgium, a meeting which changed his views and his approach to art.
It took a number of years for him to formulate his plan but eventually Michael and his wife purchased their house in France and have spent the last few years rennovating it to make the Chambre d' Hotes it is today.
He met Sarah in early 2018 and realised they had similar ideas and enthusiasm towards art but each had their own differing styles and backgrounds.
They both believe that all of us are more than capable of being creative in one form or other and decided to set up this course and to pass on their enthusiasm and knowledge.
